Sometimes when I write… It’s mostly scripture, but I also want to encourage you to seek out the scriptures. Because what I am about to say is not just based the one scripture below but many.

The Bible talks about endurance and perseverance a lot. This is why manifesting and expecting everything to be easy is a mixture of false hope and lies. This life isn’t meant to be easy, whether you’re a believer in Jesus or not. Striving for an easy life is cutting you short and not giving yourself the opportunity to become stronger, faster, wiser.

Paul talks about training for a marathon… Do you believe that kind of training is easy? Ask the runners you know… It takes them months of growth and perseverance and grueling training to seek out their best time. Life is hard… But in every obstacle, every trial, every setback… If your eyes are fixed on LOVE, on God, then you will see beauty in the ugly… You will see opportunity in the obstacle… Lessons in the trial… Growth in the setbacks… You will see the whole world differently…

And this is a beautiful thing… Why? Because when He says to, “count it all joy,” He’s not suggesting that you should take your trials lightly and ignore them… He’s saying persevere… Because when you persevere it reminds you of God’s faithfulness (because He WILL show up), it gives you a new testimony of His provision, teaches you that some thing’s don’t require the energy of anger, anxiety, sorrow, or shame… and this in turn builds up your character. How does it do that? You begin to keep those little nuggets of faithfulness, provision, and goodness as testimonies to be used for the next round of trials and you NOW have HOPE.

Hope becomes FAITH… And faith is trust. Trusting God through everything. Trusting God will show up. Trusting God has a plan. Trusting God will figure it out with you. Trusting that this too shall pass. Trusting it could be worse.

Having faith is your superpower.

So… In the midst of it all… PUT ON LOVE. Love even when it sucks; even when people suck. Love when you’re healthy; love when you’re sick. Let the peace of HIM wash over you because you have already seen His faithfulness. Allow Him to rule your hearts with HIS characteristics — joy, peace, compassion, mercy, grace, LOVE.

And most of all… Be THANKFUL. Because there is ALWAYS something to be thankful for.

And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
